My family kicked me out when I was 16 because I am gay. I have had family hardships. I’ve been homeless, I have been discriminated against and fired from jobs, I’ve been physically attacked, and have had my fair share of trouble relationships. But I’ve also found my voice, became active in advocacy, mended my relationship with my family, graduated from college, and have been a public speaker for many advocacy events.
